Description: The Flax plant provides us with a bast fiber, which spins up into linen yarn. Easier to spin than cotton, it’s a perfect fiber for durable accessories, and cool summer clothing. In this workshop class, learn how flax is grown and processed, and then spin flax prepared in a roving, into your own linen yarn. Information on finishing the resulting yarn, and discussion of projects suitable for linen will also be provided.
Supplies to bring: Spinning Wheel, empty bobbin, small spray bottle of water or flax water bowl, scissors, pencil or pen
